Sluicing – One frozen day

One of the students is looking into the effects of hobby sluicing on water quality. The whole class chipped in during a monthly monitoring session to dig around and see what they could find… gold anyone?

Looking for some nuggets…. Thanks to a generous community member who let the students borrow the hobby sluice. Teamwork makes this work happen!

There was lots of large cobble to uncover before we could get into the smaller sediment layers. Thanks to Kendrick-Julietta community members for the loan on the shovels!
