Students, please write a short reflection about the trip. You can share anything you would like. Some questions you may consider while writing are:

1. What is one thing you learned on this field trip?

2. What was your favorite part about the field trip?

3. Can you think of one way our first field trip at Benewah Creek was related to our second field trip at the Young Living Farm?

4. What was one way genetics was used at the Young Living farm?

  1. The field trip to the Young Living farm was fun i learned lots about essential oils and how they are made. Though my favorite part about the field trip was learning about how the oils were taken out of the lavender. One thing i did learn that in farming you always have to be ready to harvest when the plant is ready to harvest.

  2. The field trip that the honors Biology class took to the young living farm was really inspiring. I learnt how they harvest and grow the lavender plants. I learnt how they transplant the Melissa and lavender. I learnt a lot of facts about many kinds of machines they use.
My favorite part of the trip was when we went into the greenhouse and looked at the 200.000 lavender plants. It was also really fun to pick the thistles out of the ground so that the roots won’t grow on the field.
The field trip at the Benewah Creek was related to the Young living farm trip was that the farm has to make sure that no oil gets into the creek so they have to practically take it to a different part. I think they are doing a great job at that because the water quality at the Benewah Creek is really well.
The genetics were used when they have to breed the plants together.
